 To trade places (mentally) with a dog or cat, or other animal.

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

1. Relax your body as completely as you can. Calm your mind, eliminating all thoughts which do not relate to your intent and purpose. Sit so that you are comfortable, and as nearly as possible on the same level with the animal you will be working with. Lie down if you like. The important thing is that you are able to comfortably make eye contact with your animal partner in this exercise. It is also important to satisfy yourself that the animal is likewise comfortable and secure with you
2. Take a deep breath. As you slowly exhale, look into the animal's eyes, and imagine that a part of your awareness is being transmitted through your breath into the animal's mind. Watch the animal breathe, and imagine that a part of its awareness is being transmitted into your mind.
3. Continue looking directly into the animal's eyes until you fell your consciousness merge with the animal's consciousness.

 

BENEFITS:

 

As the boundaries between you and the animal dissolve, you may feel as if you've really traded places with a member of another species, as though a part of you has become the animal - this is the height of subjective merging. You may begin to feel compassion for another species. You'll also probably recognize some of the artificial differences between the human and animal worlds. You may be able to feel or sense the actual flow of the animals emotions and mental imagery. Should you accomplish this then it should be no trouble for you to contract with the animal to serve as your magical partner. Asking another to become such a partner also places upon you the responsibility of becoming its partner. I would not recommend contracting an animal to become your familiar and then treating the animal as a pet. A pet is something you possess, own. A Familiar, to my way of thinking, is an individual who has entered into a mutually beneficial relationship (partnership) with you, and therefore should be afforded the respect and consideration due a partner

With some level of emotion hold the image of your animal being safe in your mind. Feel your desire for their continued safety. If one is gone from your side imagine what it will be like when your pet returns. Rough out the images as clearly as you can. You can incorporate this technique into other, more structured, ritual forms.

 

Take some fur of the animal (shed fur will do nicely). Tie fur into a bunch with some red thread (silk by preference, although cotton or even acrylic will do). Invoke the blessing of your patron deity. Place consecrated fur into a canister the following is imperative!. The canister must be reflective on the outside, but NOT on the inside (If the canister is reflective on the inside, it will focus malicious intent on the animal!). Seal the canister with red wax (just a dab will do) Place canister next to cat's usual exit. Red is the color of protection, silk is an insulator, the reflective canister reflects malicious intent, the blessing is for extra whammy to the spell.

Build your barn near birch trees or plant birch trees near it.
Adorn birch trees with red and white ribbons.
Surround the barn or paddock with lilies and primroses.
Bury a hatchet, blade side up under the barn's threshold so that the animals must walk over it to enter the barn.
Place or draw horseshoes over the barn door.
Keep a piece of real silver in a dish or a bucket of water. Once a week sprinkle the animals with the water then replace with fresh water.
Charge a small metal image of the animal with your desire for protection and attach it to the animal as appropriate, on the collar or halter etc.
Burn elecampane roots, mugwort and S. John’s Wort to protect animals.
Hang bunches of mugwort on gates and field boundaries to protect the animals.
Hang purple loostrife in the barn to create harmony and happiness amongst the animals.
Pour boiling water over red clover, cool and strain then sprinkle your animals to keep them healthy and thriving.
To protect a foal, place a pinch of rue and a pinch of wormwood in a small red charm bag and attach it to the foal’s mane.
Braid your horse’s mane and tail into 13 braids each, adding straw, red ribbons, bells, or rowan twigs to the braids.

This spell makes you 50% animal. But not the way, as, you choose cat and you will get only some characteristics. Spell:

''Gods of nature and divine I want to be part animal.
Please grant me my wish and I will honor you with all my heart.
Grant me my wish, make me a (say animal you wish to become)''

Chant spell one time.

You need to just say spell once and believe it, believe it will happen with all your heart, just like you have to with all your spells. As you say spell, think of how you will look like as animal you said.
After ''... make me a...'' you have to say animal you want to shapeshift in. For example, wolf, cat, bird, crocodile, etc. xD

NOTES:
- Spell takes min: 5 minutes, max: 1 week
- To shapeshift is very easy once you done this spell. You have to think of yourself as animal you want to become.

SIDE EFFECTS: Are different for each animal.

On the evening of a full moon, form a circle with the index of your dominant hand (right if you are right-handed, left if you are left-handed).

Raise your arm until you can see the moon in the circle thus formed and murmur these words:
